July at The Spot was full of fresh energy, school holiday fun, pop-ups, and plenty happening behind the scenes as we got ready for a big few months ahead.

What happened in July

Hanna Dimtsu’s Commercial Open Pop-Up

We kicked off the month with Hanna Dimtsu’s Commercial Open Pop-Up on Friday 3 July, a fun, high-energy session that gave dancers another chance to train, groove and connect in the studio.

Female Dancehall Practice Space

Selected Female Dancehall sessions ran as practice spaces while Kiara was away, giving dancers the chance to keep moving, training and keep the vibe going.

Back to School Kids Workshops

A big focus for July was our Back to School Kids Workshops on Friday 17 July. Designed for younger dancers during the school holidays, they included breaking and commercial classes for two age groups (4 to 6 and 7 to 9). It was great to see new young dancers in the studio, building confidence and having fun during the break.

Looking ahead to August

July was a big month for getting everything ready for what came next:

• August timetable updates: a new Choreography Open with Lea on Sundays at 1:15pm, and Heels Open on Wednesdays with a weekly teacher rotation bringing a variety of styles, perspectives and choreography.
• Winter Merch Bundles: cosy studio gear and bundle offers as part of the August rollout.
• Housemates Battle and Robin Chen workshop: the battle on 8 August, followed by a House workshop with Robin Chen on 9 August.
• Collision Course: a Krump x Dancehall music battle on 23 August.
• Amy Zhang’s September workshops: two pop-ups and two courses, which were already selling quickly.
